Ingredients:
- 4 slices white sandwich bread
- 4 tbsp Nutella chocolate-hazelnut spread
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp whole milk
- 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar
Instructions:
- Remove the crusts from the 4 slices of white bread. Note: This ensures the edges seal perfectly without bulky bits getting in the way.
- Flatten each slice with a rolling pin until it is approximately 1/8th inch thick. until the bread looks dense and slightly stretchy.
- Place 2 tablespoons of Nutella in the center of two bread slices, leaving a half inch border. Note: This border is your safety zone to prevent leaks.
- Place the remaining slices over the Nutella and press the edges firmly with your fingers.
- Crimp the edges using a fork on all four sides. until the teeth of the fork leave deep, visible grooves.
- Whisk the egg and milk together in a small bowl until completely smooth.
- Apply the egg wash evenly over both sides of the pies using a pastry brush.
- Dust with cinnamon sugar generously on both sides.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes. until the exterior is mahogany colored and crackling.
- Let rest for 2 minutes before serving. Note: This allows the molten center to set slightly so it doesn't scald you.
