Ingredients:

  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained (794g)
  • 1 cup ketchup (240 ml)
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar (100g)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar (60 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (30 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 (2-pound) bag frozen cooked meatballs (Italian or plain) (907g)
  • 1 (14-ounce) package little smokies sausages (cocktail sausages) (397g)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the crushed pineapple (with its juice), ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  2. Pour half of the pineapple sauce into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Layer the frozen meatballs and little smokies sausages evenly over the sauce.
  4. Pour the remaining pineapple sauce over the meatballs and smokies, ensuring everything is coated.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours, or on low for 6-8 hours, or until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally during cooking.
  6. Serve hot, straight from the slow cooker, with toothpicks for easy grabbing.
