Ingredients:

  • 1 bagel (of your choice, plain, everything, sesame, etc.)
  • 2-4 tablespoons cream cheese, softened (full-fat or reduced-fat, your preference)

Instructions:

  1. Using a bread knife, carefully slice the bagel horizontally in half.
  2. Place the bagel halves in the toaster or toaster oven and toast to your desired level of doneness. Watch carefully to avoid burning! A golden-brown colour is generally a good aim.
  3. While the bagel is still warm (but not too hot!), spread the softened cream cheese evenly over both halves.
  4. Place the cream-cheese-covered halves back together and serve immediately. Right then, tuck in!
