- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup (120ml) cold milk
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (50g) chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in cold milk until just combined; do not overmix.
- Form into a disc, wrap in plastic, and chill for 20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using).
- Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other into a log.
- Cut the log into 8 equal pieces and place slices on a prepared baking sheet.
- Slightly flatten each roll with your hands.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm pastries and serve immediately.
