Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) cold milk
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (50g) chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in cold milk until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Form into a disc, wrap in plastic, and chill for 20 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts (if using).
  6. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  7. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other into a log.
  9. Cut the log into 8 equal pieces and place slices on a prepared baking sheet.
  10. Slightly flatten each roll with your hands.
  11. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth.
  13. Drizzle glaze over warm pastries and serve immediately.
