- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (red, yellow, or green)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano (5 g)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil (5 g)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or aluminum foil (optional).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced onion, bell pepper, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place the Italian sausages on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
- Arrange the onion and bell pepper mixture around the sausages on the baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning sausages halfway through for even cooking.
- Check for doneness; sausages should reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C) and have a golden brown exterior.
- Optional: Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
