Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Place the fillets in a baking dish and brush the tops generously with the honey glaze.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  5. For a caramelized top, switch to broil for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
  6. Drizzle with remaining glaze and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
