Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh figs, stems trimmed
- 1 tbsp melted unsalted butter
- 4 oz goat cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
- 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice each fig lengthwise, cutting about 3/4 of the way through to create a pocket, or slice completely in half.
- Arrange figs cut-side up on the baking sheet and lightly brush the bottoms with melted butter.
- Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of softened goat cheese into the center of each fig, pressing gently to secure it.
- Top each fig with a piece of chopped walnut and a pinch of fresh thyme.
- Drizzle the honey and balsamic glaze evenly over the top of each fruit.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until the honey is simmering and the edges of the figs turn a deep mahogany-color.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt while the glaze is still tacky.
