Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper if desired.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes for improved texture.
  8. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough onto prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
