Ingredients:
- 1 lb (454g) ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1/4 cup (30g) finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) BBQ sauce (your favourite bottled brand)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) black pepper
- 4 burger buns (brioche or sesame seed are great)
- Your favourite burger toppings: lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, onion, etc.
Instructions:
- Gently combine ground beef, onion, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Don't overmix!
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Gently form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch (2 cm) thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during grilling.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat (around 375-400°F or 190-200°C). Ensure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
- Place the patties on the preheated grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). For medium-rare, aim for 145°F (63°C); for well-done, 170°F (77°C).
- Place each burger on a bun and top with your desired toppings. Serve immediately.
