Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large (50g) egg
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup (40g) dark chocolate chunks
Instructions:
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it foams and turns a mahogany-colored hue; remove immediately to prevent burning.
- Whisk the browned butter with both the light brown sugar and granulated white sugar until the mixture is smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, stirring vigorously until the batter looks glossy and slightly pale.
- Gently fold in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt using a spatula until no white streaks remain.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and dark chocolate chunks.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes, removing when the edges are golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
