Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups (480g) confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter. Beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes until the mixture is pale, smooth, and completely free of lumps.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and salt. Mix on low speed for 30 seconds to evenly distribute flavors.
  3. Turn the mixer to low and gradually add the sifted confectioners’ sugar one cup at a time.
  4. Once the sugar is mostly incorporated, increase the speed to medium-high and beat for 1 minute until the frosting is fluffy and holds a stiff peak.
