Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados (approximately 400g)
  • 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) pure maple syrup (or honey, if not vegan)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries) (optional)
  • Whipped coconut cream or dairy cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into the blender.
  2. Add unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the blender.
  3. Blend the mixture on high until fully combined and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Taste the mousse and adjust the sweetness by adding more maple syrup if desired.
  5. Transfer the mousse to serving bowls or glasses. For a firmer texture, chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Top with fresh berries and whipped cream, if using, before serving.
