Ingredients:

  • 1 (14 ounce/397g) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) unsweetened cocoa powder (plus extra for dusting, optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (14g) unsalted butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup (approx. 50g) chocolate sprinkles (jimmies)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and salt.
  2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Mixture will thicken and pull away from the sides of the pan. It should take about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Drag your spoon across the bottom of the pan. If the mixture slowly comes back together, it's ready. It should be thick enough to mound slightly.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a lightly buttered plate or baking sheet. Spread evenly. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill completely.
  5. Roll the chilled mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles until fully coated.
  7. Arrange on a serving plate and enjoy!
