Ingredients:

  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and finely diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 12 oz refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 soft caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven. Set it to 375°F and line your baking sheet.
  2. Toss the 2 diced Granny Smith apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and 1 tsp of cinnamon until they are glossy and coated.
  3. Take each piece of the 12 oz biscuit dough and press it into a 4 inch circle. Keep the edges slightly thinner than the center.
  4. Place a small dollop of the 4 oz cream cheese in the center of each circle.
  5. Spoon a tablespoon of the apple mixture over the cream cheese.
  6. Press one soft caramel candy into the center of the apple pile.
  7. Pull the edges of the dough up and pinch them together firmly until no gaps remain.
  8. Gently roll the stuffed dough between your palms to smooth the seam.
  9. Brush with 3 tbsp melted butter and roll in the 1/4 cup granulated sugar and remaining cinnamon until fully encrusted.
  10. Place on the sheet and cook for 12 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
