Ingredients:
- 8 oz (227 g) semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) peppermint extract (optional)
- 12 edible googly eyes
- 12 mini pretzels
- 12 red candy-coated chocolates (for noses)
- 12 fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Melt the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar until creamy, then mix in melted chocolate.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks.
- In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture, then fold in the egg whites until combined.
- Chill the mousse for at least 30 minutes until set.
- Spoon or pipe the chocolate mousse into dessert cups or small plates.
- Decorate each mousse with pretzel antlers, googly eyes, and a red chocolate nose.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a pop of color.
