Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large (100g) eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp (10ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups (250g) M&M candies

Instructions:

  1. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium-high speed until the mixture is pale and fluffy (3 minutes).
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter on low speed, mixing only until the white streaks disappear.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 cup of the M&M candies using a spatula.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  7. Press 2-3 extra M&M candies into the top of each dough ball for a professional finish.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes, removing them when the edges are deep golden brown but the centers remain soft.
