Ingredients:
- 1 (15.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix (432g)
- 1 (21 ounce) can chocolate pie filling (595g)
- 1 cup milk (240ml)
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (113g)
- Optional: 1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark) (170g)
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (50g)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Pour the chocolate cake mix into the prepared baking pan. Spread evenly.
- Spoon the chocolate pie filling over the cake mix. Spread evenly.
- Gently pour the milk evenly over the cake mix and pie filling. Try to cover the entire surface.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts (if using) evenly over the buttered surface.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (or with a few moist crumbs).
- Let cool slightly before serving. Can be served warm or at room temperature.
