Ingredients:
- 3 medium bananas, peeled and cut in half crosswise
- 6 wooden lolly sticks
- 8 ounces (225g) dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa solids), chopped
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/4 cup (25g) chopped nuts (e.g., pecans, walnuts, almonds)
- 1/4 cup (25g) sprinkles
- 1/4 cup (25g) shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup (25g) crushed biscuits (e.g., Oreos, Graham Crackers)
Instructions:
- Peel the bananas, cut them in half, and insert a lolly stick into the cut end of each half.
- Place the bananas on a prepared baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
- Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
- Place your desired toppings in separate shallow bowls.
- Remove the frozen bananas from the freezer. Dip each banana into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
- Immediately roll the chocolate-covered banana in your chosen toppings.
- Place the decorated bananas back on the baking sheet and return to the freezer for 10-15 minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely.
- Remove from the freezer a few minutes before serving and enjoy your frozen chocolate covered bananas!
