Instructions:
- Place the honey and fresh lemon juice directly into the heat-proof mug.
- Measure and pour the chosen spirit (whisky, bourbon, or dark rum) into the mug over the honey and lemon.
- If using, place the whole cloves into the peel of a lemon slice, then add the lemon slice to the mug.
- Carefully pour the boiling water over the other ingredients until the mug is nearly full.
- Use a spoon to gently stir the mixture until the honey is completely dissolved into the hot liquid.
- Place the cinnamon stick into the mug. Serve immediately while piping hot.
