Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) Whole Milk
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Heavy Cream
- 2 large Egg Yolks
- 2 tablespoons (25g) Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon Ground Cloves
- Pinch of Sea Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 shots (60ml / 2 fl oz) Espresso (or 1/2 cup of strongly brewed coffee)
- Whipped Cream (optional, for topping)
- Ground Nutmeg (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, heavy cream, egg yolks, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon (about 5-7 minutes). Do not boil. Aim for a custard-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and strain the eggnog through a fine-mesh sieve. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Prepare two shots of espresso (or strong coffee) using your preferred method.
- Pour the espresso into a large mug. Top with the warm eggnog.
- Top with whipped cream (if desired) and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade starbucks eggnog latte!
