Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh broccoli florets (must be completely dry)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Wash the broccoli florets thoroughly. It is crucial they are completely dry before proceeding. Use a salad spinner or pat them dry with paper towels to remove all surface moisture.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the 1 lb of dry broccoli florets with 2 Tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Ensure the oil evenly and lightly coats every floret.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Place the coated broccoli into the air fryer basket in a single, non-overcrowded layer. (If necessary, cook in two batches to ensure maximum crispness).
  4. Cook the broccoli at 400°F for 10 minutes. At the 5-minute mark, pause the air fryer and shake the basket vigorously to redistribute the florets.
  5. The broccoli is finished when the edges are deep brown and slightly charred, and the stems are tender-crisp. Serve immediately.
