Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Large Shrimp (21/25 count), peeled and deveined
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper (or more to taste)
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Pat the shrimp thoroughly dry using paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy exterior.
  2. In a small bowl, combine all dry Cajun spices: Smoked Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Oregano, Thyme, Cayenne Pepper, Salt, and Black Pepper.
  3. Place the dried shrimp in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and toss gently to coat the shrimp evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the entire Cajun seasoning blend over the oiled shrimp and toss again until every piece is generously coated with the spice mix.
  5. Preheat the air fryer basket to 390°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes, if your model requires preheating.
  6. Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if necessary to ensure proper air circulation for crisping.
  7. Air fry for 6–8 minutes total. At the 4-minute mark, pause the machine, shake the basket vigorously, and flip the shrimp if desired for even browning.
  8. Check for doneness: shrimp should be opaque pink throughout and slightly curled into a 'C' shape. Remove immediately when cooked to prevent rubberiness.
  9. Transfer the cooked Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp to a serving platter, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot with a cooling dip.
