Ingredients:
- 1 lb Large Shrimp (21/25 count), peeled and deveined
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper (or more to taste)
- Salt and Black Pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Pat the shrimp thoroughly dry using paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy exterior.
- In a small bowl, combine all dry Cajun spices: Smoked Paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Oregano, Thyme, Cayenne Pepper, Salt, and Black Pepper.
- Place the dried shrimp in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with the olive oil and toss gently to coat the shrimp evenly.
- Sprinkle the entire Cajun seasoning blend over the oiled shrimp and toss again until every piece is generously coated with the spice mix.
- Preheat the air fryer basket to 390°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes, if your model requires preheating.
- Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if necessary to ensure proper air circulation for crisping.
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes total. At the 4-minute mark, pause the machine, shake the basket vigorously, and flip the shrimp if desired for even browning.
- Check for doneness: shrimp should be opaque pink throughout and slightly curled into a 'C' shape. Remove immediately when cooked to prevent rubberiness.
- Transfer the cooked Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp to a serving platter, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot with a cooling dip.
