Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs (700g) boneless, skinless chicken tenders
- 1 tbsp (15ml) olive oil (optional)
- 1 packet (approx. 1 oz/28g) Italian dressing mix
- 1 tsp (5ml) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (5ml) onion powder
- ½ tsp (2.5ml) smoked paprika
- ½ tsp (2.5ml) black pepper
- ½ tsp (2.5ml) salt (or to taste)
- ½ cup (120ml) chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Italian dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken tenders and toss to coat evenly.
- (Optional Browning): For added flavour, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken tenders on all sides until lightly browned. This step adds depth, but is completely optional.
- Place the seasoned chicken tenders in the crockpot in a single layer.
- Pour the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and easily shreds with a fork. Crockpot chicken tenders.
- Use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the crockpot. This creates a fantastic pulled chicken texture.
- Garnish with fresh parsley (if using) and serve hot.
