Ingredients:

  • 18 oz brownie mix, baked and cooled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 quart vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Cut cooled brownies into 1-inch (2.5cm) cubes. Place them on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for at least 2 hours to ensure a molten core.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the egg, milk, and melted butter until the batter is smooth and thick.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Working in small batches, dip each frozen brownie cube into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  6. Carefully submerge the battered brownies in the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on a wire cooling rack with paper towels, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
