Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (470 ml) of soy wax flakes
  • 1 oz (30 ml) of fragrant essential oil (e.g., vanilla, cake batter, strawberry)
  • 6 candle wicks with metal bases (pre-waxed)
  • Candle dye chips or liquid dye (as needed for desired shades)

Instructions:

  1. Cover the work surface with butcher paper and gather all ingredients and equipment.
  2. Fill the double boiler with water; heat to a simmer. Place soy wax flakes in the top pot and stir until fully melted.
  3. Once wax is melted, add dye chips to achieve desired color, stirring until fully incorporated. Remove from heat and mix in essential oil.
  4. Position candle wicks in the desired center of the molds using wick holders or chopsticks.
  5. Carefully pour the melted wax into the molds around the wick; fill to desired level.
  6. Allow the candles to cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour (or until solidified).
  7. Gently remove candles from molds and trim wicks to ¼ inch above the wax.
