Ingredients:
- 1 (15.25 ounce / 432g) package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreo), finely crushed (reserve some whole cookies for garnish, if desired)
- 1 (3.4 ounce / 96g) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups (720ml) cold milk (whole or 2% recommended for richness)
- 8 ounces (227g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 8 ounces (227g) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
- Gummy worms, for garnish
- Optional: Chocolate rocks, flower candies, plastic shovel
Instructions:
- Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs. Use a food processor for speed or a resealable bag and rolling pin for a more tactile approach. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar together until light and fluffy. Ensure no lumps remain.
- Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the pudding mixture until well combined. Then, gently fold in the whipped topping until everything is homogenous.
- In a large serving bowl or individual clear cups, layer the crushed cookies and pudding mixture. Start with a layer of crushed cookies, followed by a layer of pudding, and repeat.
- Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably longer, to allow the flavors to meld and the pudding to set completely.
- Before serving, garnish the top with gummy worms, chocolate rocks, flower candies, and/or a plastic shovel. Get creative!
