Ingredients:
- 1 (15-ounce/425g) package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed into fine crumbs
- 1/4 cup (30g) unsalted butter, melted (optional)
- 2 (3.4-ounce/96g each) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups (946ml) cold milk
- 8 ounces (227g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup (227g) heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 package (about 8 ounces/227g) gummy worms
- Optional: Gummy bears, chocolate rocks, artificial flowers, edible sprinkles for decoration
Instructions:
- Pulse cookies in a food processor (or crush in a zip-top bag) until finely ground. Mix with melted butter (if using) to create a slightly damp crumb mixture.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and milk until well combined. Set aside to thicken for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until combined.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with the electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the pudding mixture until well combined. Then, gently fold in the whipped cream until everything is smooth and light.
- In your chosen serving dish, layer the crushed cookie dirt, pudding mixture, and gummy worms. Start and end with a layer of cookie crumbs to resemble soil.
- Arrange the gummy worms to look like they're crawling out of the dirt. Add any other desired decorations, such as gummy bears, chocolate rocks, or artificial flowers.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.
