Ingredients:
- 6 cups of tart apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (about 5-6 medium apples)
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (100 g) packed brown sugar
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (50 g) rolled oats
- ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss until apples are well coated.
- Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared pie dish, spreading evenly.
- In another bowl, prepare the crumble topping by combining flour, brown sugar, oats, and salt.
- Cut in the softened butter with a fork or pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple filling.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
