Ingredients:
- 3 cups Bisquick Original Baking Mix
- 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar (for the dough)
- ¾ cup Whole Milk, slightly warm
- ½ cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- ¾ cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp Salt (for the filling)
- 2 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 cup Confectioners’ (Icing) Sugar
- 2–3 Tbsp Whole Milk or Heavy Cream (for the glaze)
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease your 9x9 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
- Gradually add the warm whole milk to the dry ingredients, stirring just until the dough comes together in a slightly sticky mass. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently 5 to 6 times—just enough to form a smooth ball.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle, approximately 12 inches wide by 8 inches long (30 cm x 20 cm) and about ¼ inch (6 mm) thick.
- Create the Filling: In a small bowl, beat the very soft butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until creamy and well combined.
- Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the filling mixture across the entire surface of the rolled dough, leaving a small ½ inch margin along one of the long edges.
- Roll the Log: Starting with the long edge opposite the clean margin, tightly roll the dough into a snug log. Pinch the seam edge closed to seal the roll.
- Slice the Rolls: Use a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss to cut the log into 9 equal-sized pieces (about 1¼ inches / 3 cm thick).
- Place and Bake: Place the rolls cut-side-up into the prepared baking dish, ensuring they are just touching. Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until the tops are deeply golden brown.
- Make the Glaze: While the rolls are baking, combine the softened cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons of milk/cream. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Add the remaining tablespoon of milk/cream if needed.
- Glaze and Serve: Remove the hot rolls from the oven. Let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Drizzle or spread the glaze generously over the warm rolls. Serve immediately.
