Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) gin (preferably a London Dry gin)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) elderflower liqueur (like St-Germain)
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) fresh lemon juice (about 1/2 medium lemon)
  • 3 oz (90 ml) tonic water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wheel, for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprig, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Gather all ingredients and equipment. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a measuring cup.
  2. In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, combine gin, elderflower liqueur, and fresh lemon juice.
  3. If using a shaker, add ice and shake gently until chilled (about 10-15 seconds). Alternatively, stir the mixture with ice in the mixing glass until well chilled.
  4. Fill a serving glass with fresh ice cubes. Strain the mixture over the ice in the glass.
  5. Slowly pour tonic water over the cocktail to preserve the bubbles.
  6. Add a lemon wheel and a sprig of fresh mint if desired.
  7. Sip and savor the refreshing flavors.
