Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80% lean)
- 1 cup (100 g) breadcrumbs (preferably homemade)
- 1/2 cup (75 g) finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp (5 g) salt
- 1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper
- 1 tsp (5 g) dried oregano
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tbsp dried)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil (or enough for pan frying)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and parsley.
- Use your hands or a spatula to blend all ingredients until well combined.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
- After chilling, divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into patties (about 2-3 inches wide).
- In a frying pan, add vegetable oil over medium heat until it shimmers.
- Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove rissoles and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil before serving.
