Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz or 285g) mini marshmallows
- 5 cups (about 140g) Froot Loops cereal
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions:
- Grease the baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir until fully melted.
- Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.
- If using, stir in the vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add the Froot Loops cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture, folding gently with a spatula until fully coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing down evenly with the spatula.
- If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips or sprinkles on top, pressing them gently into the mixture.
- Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
