Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz or 285g) mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups (about 140g) Froot Loops cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Grease the baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter in the microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir until fully melted.
  3. Add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the marshmallows are fully melted and smooth.
  4. If using, stir in the vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the Froot Loops cereal to the melted marshmallow mixture, folding gently with a spatula until fully coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing down evenly with the spatula.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips or sprinkles on top, pressing them gently into the mixture.
  8. Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
