Ingredients:

  • 170g unsalted butter, melted
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 45g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 5ml pure vanilla extract
  • 65g all-purpose flour
  • 1.5g salt
  • 170g semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. Whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar together vigorously. Note: This starts the sugar dissolution process.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is glossy and slightly pale.   4. Sift in the cocoa powder, all purpose flour, and salt.
  5. Fold the dry ingredients gently with a spatula until just combined. Stop as soon as the streaks of flour disappear to avoid a cakey texture.
