Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, melted and hot
- 1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. While the butter is still hot, whisk in the unsweetened cocoa powder to bloom the chocolate flavor.
- Add the granulated sugar to the butter mixture and whisk vigorously. Add the eggs and vanilla extract one at a time, whisking for 1-2 minutes until the batter becomes pale and glossy.
- Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet until just combined; do not overmix.
- Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are set and slightly pulling away from the sides.
