Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (227g / 8 oz) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (255g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (227g / 8 oz) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Sprinkles
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • M&Ms
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • Fresh berries (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-inch pizza pan or line with parchment paper.
  6. Press the chilled dough evenly into the pizza pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centre is set.
  8. Let the cookie pizza cool completely in the pan before frosting.
  9. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the milk and vanilla extract, beating until smooth.
  10. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cookie. Decorate with your favourite toppings.
  11. Slice into wedges and serve immediately.
