Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound (454g) frozen potstickers (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
- 4 tablespoons (56g) unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred) (30ml)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (15ml)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (15ml)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions, for garnish
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Mince garlic, chop chives, and have all ingredients ready.
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange frozen potstickers in a single layer in the skillet. Cook until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy.
- Add 1/4 cup (60ml) water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the potstickers are cooked through and the water has evaporated.
- Remove potstickers from the skillet and set aside. Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter in the same skillet. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey (or maple syrup) to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer. Return the potstickers to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the garlic butter sauce. Cook for another minute to let the flavors meld.
- Transfer potstickers to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh chives (or green onions) and toasted sesame seeds (if using). Serve immediately.
