Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio recommended)
- 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (5g) onion powder
- 1 tsp (5g) smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups (200g) mixed salad greens (spinach, arugula, and romaine)
- 1 cup (150g) cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup (160g) cucumber, diced
- 1/2 cup (75g) red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Optional: 1/4 cup (25g) shredded cheese (cheddar or feta)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
- 2 tbsp (30ml) balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into four equal patties.
- Allow the patties to marinate in the refrigerator for 10 minutes while preparing the vegetables.
- Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Grill the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- In a large bowl, layer the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and avocado.
- Place the grilled patties on top of the salad.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Drizzle dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.
- Serve immediately, garnished with shredded cheese if desired.
