Ingredients:

  • 1 lb fresh Southern bluefin tuna steaks
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 large orange, segmented and diced
  • 1 grapefruit, segmented and diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, minced (seeds removed)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, honey, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
  2. Add tuna steaks to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. While the tuna marinates, combine diced orange, grapefruit, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice in another bowl. Season with salt and pepper, mixing gently.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).
  5. Remove tuna from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place tuna steaks on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  6. Remove tuna from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes before slicing. Serve with a generous spoonful of citrus salsa on top.
