Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp (57g) unsalted butter
  • 10 oz (283g) mini marshmallows
  • 2 tsp (10ml) green gel food coloring
  • 6 cups (500g) crisped rice cereal
  • 4 oz (113g) red candy melts
  • 1 tbsp (15g) red heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions:

  1. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan thoroughly with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Place a saucepan over low heat and melt the butter completely. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until smooth and glossy.
  3. Stir the green gel coloring into the melted marshmallow mixture until the color is vibrant and consistent, then remove from heat immediately.
  4. Gently fold in the crisped rice cereal using a buttered spatula until every piece is coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press down lightly—do not pack tightly.
  6. Melt the red candy melts in the microwave in 15-second intervals until smooth.
  7. Transfer the melted candy to a piping bag and pipe a small, asymmetrical heart onto the center of each square.
  8. Top each heart with a few red sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
