Ingredients:

  • 1 store-bought angel food cake (about 10-12 oz; 280-340 g)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (480 ml)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (30 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml)
  • 2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) (about 300 g)
  • 1 medium banana, sliced (120 g)
  • 1/2 cup sliced peaches or nectarines (75 g)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Gather all ingredients and equipment for easy access.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
  3. Wash and slice the berries, banana, and peaches as necessary. Set aside.
  4. Cut the angel food cake into cubes. In a trifle dish, layer one-third of the cake cubes at the bottom.
  5. Add half of the whipped cream on top of the cake layer.
  6. Add half of the mixed fruit on top of the whipped cream.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients (cake, whipped cream, fruit).
  8. Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired and serve chilled.
