Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) packed dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) fine sea salt
Instructions:
- Combine the butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the butter is completely melted and the sugar has integrated into a bubbling, uniform paste.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking vigorously. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil.
- Lower the heat and simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and looks glossy.
- Remove the pan from the heat immediately. Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
