Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) Tomato Ketchup
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Vegetable Oil (or canola oil)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Water
- 2 tablespoons (25g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Kosher Salt (or to taste)
- 1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper (freshly ground preferred)
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (optional, for a kick)
Instructions:
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, vegetable oil, and water until well combined.
- Add the sugar, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the bowl.
- Whisk all the ingredients together vigorously until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved and the dressing is smooth and emulsified. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed (more salt for tang, more sugar for sweetness).
- For best flavor, transfer the catalina dressing to an airtight container or jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Shake or stir the dressing well before serving. Drizzle over your favorite salad, use as a marinade, or serve as a dipping sauce.
