Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ cup (120ml) water
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add vegetable oil and gradually mix in water until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough gently on a floured surface for about 1 minute until smooth.
  4. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thickness.
  6. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into 1-inch strips.
  7. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry the strips in small batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
  9. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  10. In a bowl, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  11. While still warm, toss the fried twists in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well-coated.
