Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (approximately 300g)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (15ml)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped (15g)
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla) (480g)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (finely grated) (5g)
  • Whole basil leaves (for decoration)
  • Additional sliced strawberries (for decoration)

Instructions:

  1. Hull and slice the strawberries. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, honey (or maple syrup), and chopped basil. Toss gently to coat and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined and smooth.
  3. Take serving glasses or cups and begin layering. Start with a spoonful of the yogurt mixture at the bottom. Add a layer of the strawberry-basil mixture. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glasses, finishing with a yogurt layer.
  4. For best flavor, you may let the layered dessert chill in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  5. Top each dessert with whole basil leaves and additional strawberry slices for an elegant touch.
