Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (approximately 300g)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (15ml)
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, finely chopped (15g)
- 2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla) (480g)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15ml)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (finely grated) (5g)
- Whole basil leaves (for decoration)
- Additional sliced strawberries (for decoration)
Instructions:
- Hull and slice the strawberries. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, honey (or maple syrup), and chopped basil. Toss gently to coat and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined and smooth.
- Take serving glasses or cups and begin layering. Start with a spoonful of the yogurt mixture at the bottom. Add a layer of the strawberry-basil mixture. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the glasses, finishing with a yogurt layer.
- For best flavor, you may let the layered dessert chill in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Top each dessert with whole basil leaves and additional strawberry slices for an elegant touch.
