Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup (240ml) Water
- 1 (567g) can Lychees in syrup, drained (reserve the lychee syrup from the can - approximately 1/2 cup or 120ml)
- 1 cup (240ml) Freshly squeezed Lemon Juice (about 6-8 lemons)
- 4 cups (960ml) Cold Water, plus more to taste
- Ice cubes, for serving
- Lychees, for garnish (optional)
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Make the Lychee Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add reserved lychee syrup from the can. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and let cool completely (about 30 minutes).
- Prepare the Lychee Puree: Roughly chop the drained lychees. Puree the chopped lychees in a blender or food processor until smooth.
- Combine and Adjust: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lychee syrup, lychee puree, lemon juice, and cold water. Stir well to combine.
- Taste and Adjust Sweetness: Taste the lemonade and add more water if it's too sweet or tart. Add more lychee syrup or lemon juice as needed to reach your preferred flavor balance.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve over ice, garnished with lychees and lemon slices (optional).
