Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) Water
  • 1 (567g) can Lychees in syrup, drained (reserve the lychee syrup from the can - approximately 1/2 cup or 120ml)
  • 1 cup (240ml) Freshly squeezed Lemon Juice (about 6-8 lemons)
  • 4 cups (960ml) Cold Water, plus more to taste
  • Ice cubes, for serving
  • Lychees, for garnish (optional)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Lychee Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add reserved lychee syrup from the can. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat and let cool completely (about 30 minutes).
  2. Prepare the Lychee Puree: Roughly chop the drained lychees. Puree the chopped lychees in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  3. Combine and Adjust: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled lychee syrup, lychee puree, lemon juice, and cold water. Stir well to combine.
  4. Taste and Adjust Sweetness: Taste the lemonade and add more water if it's too sweet or tart. Add more lychee syrup or lemon juice as needed to reach your preferred flavor balance.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve over ice, garnished with lychees and lemon slices (optional).
