Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe avocados (about 300g, pitted and scooped)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup (or agave syrup for a vegan option)
  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons of sweetener (like stevia or erythritol) if you prefer it sweeter
  • Optional toppings: fresh berries, shredded coconut, or crushed nuts

Instructions:

  1. Scoop out the flesh of the ripe avocados and place them in a food processor or a high-speed blender.
  2. To the avocado, add the unsweetened cocoa powder.
  3. Pour in the maple syrup and almond milk. Add the vanilla extract and sea salt. If using an additional sweetener, add it now.
  4. Cover and blend all the ingredients together until completely smooth and creamy.
  5. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness if needed. If its too thick, add a little more milk until desired consistency.
  6. Once blended, transfer the mousse into individual serving bowls or a single large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
  7. Serve chilled and garnish with fresh berries, shredded coconut, or crushed nuts as desired.
