Ingredients:
- 9 cups Chex cereal (Rice, Corn, or a mixture)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ¼ cup (4 tablespoons) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar, plus more for dusting if needed
Instructions:
- Measure out the Chex cereal and pour it into a large bowl.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract to the melted chocolate mixture.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal. Gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- Pour half of the powdered sugar into a large resealable bag. Add the chocolate-covered cereal to the bag.
- Seal the bag and shake vigorously until the cereal is completely coated in powdered sugar. Add the remaining powdered sugar and shake again.
- Spread the Muddy Buddies in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
- Break apart any large clumps and serve.
