Instructions:
- Select a large microwave-safe mug to prevent overflow.
- In the mug, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Whisk well to ensure there are no lumps.
- Add pumpkin puree, milk, and vegetable oil to the dry mixture. Mix until smooth and homogenous.
- If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for added flavor.
- Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely. The cake should rise and be firm to the touch.
