Ingredients:
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk, preferably whole milk
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 (12 ounce) box vanilla wafers
- 3-4 ripe bananas, sliced
- Optional: Extra vanilla wafers, whipped cream, and banana slices for garnish
Instructions:
- Whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk in a large bowl until smooth. Let stand for 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until fully incorporated and the mixture is light and airy.
- Arrange a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom of the baking dish or trifle bowl.
- Top the wafers with a layer of sliced bananas, followed by a layer of the pudding mixture.
- Repeat layers of vanilla wafers, bananas, and pudding, ending with a layer of pudding on top.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the wafers to soften slightly.
- Before serving, garnish with extra vanilla wafers, whipped cream, and/or banana slices, if desired.
