Ingredients:

  • 1 (12-ounce) package vanilla wafers (about 340g)
  • 4-5 medium ripe bananas, sliced (about 600g)
  • 1 (5.1 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding mix (145g)
  • 3 cups cold milk (about 720ml)
  • 1 (8-ounce) container Cool Whip, thawed (226g)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let stand for 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  2. Gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip into the pudding mixture until evenly combined.
  3. In the baking dish or trifle bowl, arrange a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom.
  4. Top the vanilla wafers with a layer of sliced bananas.
  5. Spread a layer of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
  6. Repeat the layers of vanilla wafers, bananas, and pudding mixture two more times, ending with a layer of pudding mixture.
  7. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the wafers to soften.
  8. Before serving, optionally garnish with extra vanilla wafers or banana slices.
